What is HomeCo and how does it help roommates?

HomeCo is a household management app for roommates and housemates. It helps you coordinate tasks, split bills, communicate effectively, manage shopping lists, and make decisions democratically. Everyone can take part in a shared home.

How does HomeCo handle bill splitting and expenses?

HomeCo records shared expenses, calculates each member's share, and tracks balances and settlement status. HomeCo does not move or receive reimbursement funds; any payment happens outside HomeCo through a method the household chooses.

Which HomeCo membership should I choose?

Housemate costs £2.99 monthly or £29.99 yearly and is self-only. Whole Home costs £9.99 monthly or £89.99 yearly and lets one payer cover everyone invited to exactly one home. Eligible accounts can try HomeCo for 14 days without a card; the trial never auto-converts, so a charge occurs only after an active purchase through Apple or Google.

How does free Student access work?

After verifying a recognised university email, a Student member receives one year of free access. Student members may only create or join Student homes, or join a home covered by an active Whole Home membership. They cannot create or join a Housemate home.

How do renewal, cancellation and refunds work?

Paid memberships auto-renew monthly or yearly through Apple or Google until cancelled in the store's subscription settings. Cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the current paid period. Deleting a HomeCo account does not cancel the store subscription. Apple or Google handles refund requests under its rules and applicable law.

How does the democratic task rotation system work?

HomeCo lets household members create, assign and rotate tasks, track their status, and use reminders. Results depend on how each household configures and uses these features.

How secure is my financial data in HomeCo?

HomeCo stores expense records and settlement status but does not move reimbursement funds. Purchases of HomeCo memberships are processed by Apple or Google, and HomeCo does not receive your full payment-card number. Can I use HomeCo for a co-living space with 10+ people?

HomeCo can be used by shared homes and co-living households to coordinate tasks, expense records, announcements and shopping. Suitability depends on the household's size, needs and use of the available features.

Does HomeCo work offline?

An internet connection is needed to sync current household data. Some previously loaded content may remain visible without a connection, but offline availability varies by feature and device.

What happens if someone leaves the household?

Leaving or being removed from a home ends that person's access to it. Records they contributed may remain available to other members and may retain attribution or be de-identified, depending on the feature and applicable retention requirements.

Can I export my data from HomeCo?

HomeCo does not currently provide an in-app data export. Depending on where you live, you may request access to or a portable copy of personal data by contacting support@homeco.app, subject to applicable law and exceptions. Account deletion can be requested in the app.
