Shared Home Inventory List Template
Why Inventory Matters
When roommates move in together, it's rarely clear who owns what. Someone brings a sofa, another brings kitchen appliances, and over time purchases blur together. An inventory list prevents disputes when someone moves out or when a shared item needs replacing.
Template Structure
Item name and description, estimated value, date purchased, who paid / who owns it, shared or personal, condition (new/good/fair/worn), replacement responsibility, and notes. Organise by room: kitchen, living room, bathroom, storage, and outdoor.
Keep It Living
Update the inventory whenever someone buys something for the shared home or when an item is replaced. Review it together at your monthly flat meeting. A stale inventory is worse than no inventory.
Manage with HomeCo
