Monthly House Meeting Checklist for Roommates

Monthly house meetings are the secret weapon of happy shared homes. They catch small issues before they become big conflicts and keep everyone aligned on household goals and responsibilities.

Pre-meeting prep involves reviewing the past month's expenses, checking the chore completion tracker, noting any maintenance issues that need reporting, and thinking about any concerns or suggestions you want to raise.

Agenda items should include reviewing and settling monthly bills, discussing any overdue payments, evaluating how the chore system is working, addressing maintenance or repair needs, and reviewing the upcoming month's calendar for guests or schedule changes.

Discussion topics should cover whether the cleaning schedule is working, any noise or privacy concerns, whether shared supplies are running low, anything that needs fixing or replacing, and whether the current rent split is still fair.

End every meeting with clear action items about who is doing what by when. Write it down and share it in the group chat. Set the date for next month's meeting before everyone leaves.
