HomeCo Student Access: Eligibility, Home Types and Duration
HomeCo offers one year of free Student access after verification of a recognised university email. Student members can use Student homes or an active Whole Home-covered home.
What does student verification provide?
As checked on 16 October 2026, HomeCo's official membership page offers one year of Student access at no charge after verification of a recognised university email. This is a defined eligibility-based period, not a promise of free lifetime access.
Follow the verification steps shown in the app and check the resulting account status. Do not assume that any educational address, a student card or a university name alone qualifies. If verification is unsuccessful, use the support route shown by HomeCo rather than creating multiple accounts or assuming a paid plan is required immediately.
Which homes can Student members join?
Verified Student members may create or join Student homes. They may also join a home covered by an active Whole Home membership. They cannot create or join a Housemate home.
For example, three verified students can use a Student home. In a mixed household, an active Whole Home membership can cover invited members of that home, including verified students. A student's free access does not automatically sponsor a non-student member or make a Housemate home eligible for Student accounts.
How is the trial different?
The 14-day trial requires no card and does not automatically convert to a paid membership. Trial accounts have different home-type restrictions: during the trial, users can create and use their trial home or join an active Whole Home-covered home, but cannot join a Housemate or Student home.
Check the intended home type before inviting everyone. A failed invitation may involve account or home eligibility rather than an incorrect email address. Follow the exact message in the app and current help information before changing the household setup.
What happens after the free year?
The verified offer establishes one year of Student access; it does not establish automatic renewal or eligibility after graduation. Before the period ends, check the options shown for your account and whether your home remains eligible. Do not assume another free year will be granted.
If you choose a paid membership, review the final local price and subscription terms in the app store. Store subscriptions renew until cancelled there, and deleting a HomeCo account does not cancel an Apple or Google subscription. Keep the current membership page as the reference if the offer changes.
